Vacuum Splint

This re-usable device, shown below in a carrying case with the pump, is completely flexible and easily stored. When the air is evacuated the splint becomes rigid.

As shown in the bottom photo, the injured limb is immobilized, preventing further injury until the patient can be treated at a medical facility.
