Once the officers of the department determine a probationary firefighter has reached the required proficiency, (meeting the training standards for Firefighter I), candidates are appointed as ACTIVE call firefighters, and are permitted to respond to alarms

Call Firefighters receive a small stipend for each Incident to which they respond.
